Major five-year partnership to deliver youth development, mentorship and community inclusion initiatives.
We're proud to announce a major new partnership with Darebin Basketball Association (DBA), committing to a five-year agreement that will support the growth of one of Melbourne's fastest-growing sporting organisations and invest in opportunities for young people across the community.
The partnership forms part of our Home Team program, an initiative designed to support local clubs and organisations that make a meaningful difference in the communities where our customers live, work and raise their families.
More than a traditional sponsorship, this partnership is about helping young people build confidence, resilience and life skills that extend far beyond the basketball court. Since emerging from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, DBA has grown from zero active participants to more than 1,200 athletes in just four years, establishing itself as one of Melbourne's fastest-growing basketball organisations.
Through our support, DBA will establish a new mentorship program for junior Phoenix athletes, delivering workshops focused on leadership, communication, goal setting, overcoming barriers and managing performance anxiety. These programs are designed to help young athletes develop not only as players, but as people.
We're also proud to support DBA's Community Inclusion Fund, which provides financial assistance to families facing barriers to participation and helps ensure no young person misses out on sport because of financial circumstances.
At a time when community connection and youth wellbeing have never been more important, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to participate, belong and thrive.
