The pale bark of a gum tree. Sand that shifts with the light. The deep ochre of the Red Centre. Australia's landscapes have a colour palette all their own, and the new Laminex Colour Collection 2027 brings it indoors.
Inspired by terrain stretching from the Victorian High Country to the Nullarbor, the collection adds six new solid colours and four Australian Native woodgrains to the Laminex range. The solids move from soft, subtle neutrals through to earthy mid-tones and one rich accent, while the woodgrains bring the warmth of native hardwood to everyday surfaces.
Every décor shares the same durable, low-sheen, smooth-touch finish, and each has been designed to sit comfortably alongside the others. That makes pairing them easy, whether you're after a calm, tonal kitchen or something with a little more drama.
The solids: from snowfall to ochre
High Country. A soft, muted white with a hint of greige, inspired by fresh snowfall in the Victorian High Country. A gentler alternative to bright white for kitchen and laundry cabinetry.
Scribbly Gum. A warm greige with the faintest green undertone, taking its cue from the smooth, weathered bark of its namesake tree. Calm and understated, it's an easy fit for benchtops and splashbacks.
Desert Dune. A warm beige with soft brown undertones, like the sands of the inland deserts. The collection's all-rounder – think benchtops, island drawers and full-height joinery.
Nullarbor Drift. A warm brown with a gentle blush of pink, drawn from the coastal sands and open plains of the Nullarbor. Soft enough to carry across a whole room, from shelving to built-in seating.
Sunbaked. An earthy mid-tone brown that recalls the weathered soils of the outback. Use it on kitchen cabinetry for a grounded, enveloping look.
Red Centre. A deep, richly pigmented red-brown inspired by the ochre earth of Australia's centre. The collection's statement colour – use it on a single run of open shelving, or go all in on a lounge or study.
Desert Dune, Sunbaked and Red Centre bring earthy warmth to the 2027 Laminex palette.
The woodgrains: native timbers, without the repeat
Four new Australian Native décors join the Laminex Next Generation Woodgrains range, inspired by the native hardwoods of Australia's east coast.
Three take their cue from Southern Blue Gum: Raw Bluegum in a raw veneer colouring, Calm Bluegum in a warm mid-tone and Smoked Bluegum in a dark, smoked finish. Raw Spotted Gum rounds out the set with the lighter red tones and pale-yellow highlights of Queensland Spotted Gum.
All four use AbsoluteGrain®, for a tactile surface you can feel, and TrueScale™, a no-repeat technology that reproduces the depth and variation of natural timber. It's the look of a solid timber island or wall of joinery, with the practicality of a laminate.

Where it works at home
Kitchens. Keep it tonal. Sunbaked or Desert Dune cabinetry with a Raw Bluegum island and a touch of Red Centre on open shelving builds warmth without contrast. Or let Calm Bluegum joinery be the hero, and keep benchtops and walls understated.
Bathrooms and ensuites. High Country or Scribbly Gum vanities pair beautifully with stone and brushed tapware for a calm, spa-like feel. In a powder room, Smoked Bluegum adds depth and a sense of occasion.
Laundries and mudrooms. Hard-working spaces still deserve to feel welcoming. Raw Spotted Gum cabinetry with a Scribbly Gum benchtop suits the place where school bags, shoes and washing land.
Living and dining. Built-in shelving, entertainment units and window seats in Nullarbor Drift or Red Centre bring an earthy glow, while a Smoked Bluegum drinks cabinet tucks neatly into the joinery.
Studies and kids’ rooms. Nullarbor Drift joinery with Raw Spotted Gum desktops and shelving feels warm and welcoming – a space for homework, reading and making.

How to style it
Keep undertones consistent. Pair warm timbers with earthy solids, then introduce cooler stainless steel or stone for balance.
Commit to one timber. Choosing a single woodgrain and repeating it through the home reads as considered rather than busy.
Soften with curves. Rounded benchtops and splashbacks remove hard corners and ease the transition from one surface to the next.
Build warmth through repetition. Carrying the same colour across joinery, walls and furniture creates a space that feels cocooning, not overwhelming.
The earthier solids and native timbers sit naturally alongside Carlisle's Organic Escape and Autumnal Ambience interior schemes, while High Country and Scribbly Gum suit the lighter, breezier Coastal palette.
The takeaway for 2027
Colour Collection 2027 is less about chasing a trend and more about a sense of place – colours and timbers that feel familiar because they're drawn from the country around us. Start with one hero surface, keep your undertones warm and consistent, and let the rest of the home follow.
