As Requested: Introducing Butler's Pantries to Inspire
With space to prep meals, store appliances and even hide dirty dishes, a butler’s pantry will transform your kitchen – and we’re introducing it as an optional upgrade to several Inspire homes!
A butler’s pantry is the new kitchen must-have, and it’s easy to see why: it provides space to hide all those elements you don’t want to show when you’re entertaining. Think dirty dishes, bulky benchtop appliances and the nitty-gritty of food prep, so you can keep your kitchen island and benchtops clean and clear.
“[A butler’s pantry is] something that people are after these days. Now that Covid is done, we are entertaining more at home and the kitchen is a sanctuary where you can congregate with friends and family and create memories together,” says Carlisle Homes’ Senior Designer Ricky D’Alesio.
“We have recognised a real desire from purchasers not only for a beautiful and spacious kitchen, but also a practical space away from the kitchen that can house cooking appliances, the dishwasher or an extra sink. This allows you to do the majority of your meal prep and cooking in the butler’s pantry and keep the kitchen clean and clear for entertaining,” he says.
Butler’s pantry now available in Amberley 29BP
If you’ve been dreaming of a butler’s pantry for your new home, but thought you wouldn’t have the space or budget, think again! Thanks to some brilliant design moves, we’re introducing the option to upgrade our new budget- and family-friendly Amberley 29 Inspire home with a luxurious butler’s pantry with all the mod cons. The Amberley 29BP display home at Meridian Estate, Clyde North opens its doors on Saturday 5 November 2022, so pop in and take a look!
“The floorplan of the new Amberley 29BP really emphasises the kitchen and butler’s pantry, making them the heroes of the home,” says D’Alesio. “The original Amberley 29 featured a 1600 x 2110mm walk-in-pantry adjacent to the kitchen, whereas the new Amberley 29BP features a much larger 1600 x 2960mm walk-in-pantry with adequate space for a full butler’s pantry fit-out, tucked neatly and conveniently behind the kitchen. It’s perfect for people who love to entertain and who use their kitchens a lot,” says D’Alesio.
Read on to discover all about the fantastic ways you can fit out your new butler’s pantry.
Generous prep space
Just like the original Amberley 29, all our family-friendly Inspire homes come with a spacious walk-in pantry with four white melamine shelves that offer up loads of storage for appliances, dry goods, pet food and more.
But for the ultimate in luxury, you’ll soon be able to upgrade several of our single and double storey Inspire homes with a hardworking and stylish butler’s pantry.
Take inspiration from our new Amberley 29BP, the first of our Inspire homes to come with a butler’s pantry, by choosing luxurious Caesarstone Raw Concrete benchtops where you can do all your food preparation and keep everyday appliances such as the toaster, kettle and juicer. Choose the same Caesarstone surface for your kitchen island and rear benchtops for a seamless look.
Stunning joinery and splashbacks
Chances are you’ll be spending a lot of time in your butler’s pantry, so make it a space you love! Upgrade your base cabinets from standard white to a beautiful woodgrain laminate, such as Laminex Danish Walnut, with contrasting Laminex Baye (a soft grey-green) on your upper cabinets.
From there, add a statement splashback with gorgeous Mini Herringbone White Edge mosaic tiles from Beaumont Tiles.
LED lighting
Light up your benchtops and make it easy to see what you’re doing when you’re prepping dinner by installing energy-efficient LED lights beneath your upper cabinets. They’re great for creating atmosphere at night too!
An extra sink and tap
Having an extra sink and mixer tap in the butler’s pantry is a godsend in a busy kitchen, allowing you to power through the washing up and deal with big, dirty dishes when your guests have gone home, without cluttering up your main kitchen.
Take your cues from our Amberley 29BP butler’s pantry and add an undermount single-bowl sink and a sleek and practical ALTO chrome mixer tap.
Make life even easier by adding a Zip Water ambient chilled water tap so the kids can grab a cold drink or fill up their water bottles, or choose a Zip style that delivers instant boiling water so you can make a cup of tea without having to wait for the kettle to boil.
Loads of storage
Turn your butler’s pantry into an Insta-worthy space by lining your open shelves with dry goods in chic, matching storage containers or jars – Tupperware, IKEA and Kmart all have great selections.
Store smaller items and multiples in pretty, pull-out storage baskets, or upgrade your butler’s pantry to include a few handy drawers.
And consider adding overhead cabinets to make the most of this functional space.
Room for extra appliances
If you entertain regularly or have a large family, having a second dishwasher in the butler’s pantry can be a real bonus. To keep your main kitchen clear, you might want to install your microwave and beverage fridge in the butler’s pantry too.
Have a blank wall in your butler’s pantry and not sure what to do with it? Personalise the space by hanging a beautiful artwork, family planner, cooking aprons, spare house keys or dog leads.
Your dream entertainer’s kitchen just got one step closer!
