Get the Showroom Look: Haven, a Luxe, Layered Kitchen
by Carlisle Homes
Perfect for entertaining and everyday family life, Haven is the ultimate contemporary kitchen – here’s how to create the look.
Clean lines and white lashings were once the mainstays of contemporary kitchens – but today, they are far more layered and interesting. Our Haven kitchen is currently on display in our Spectra Showroom and is a great example.
With its soft tones, intricately patterned stone benchtops and touches of oak, it’s a bright and welcoming kitchen that transitions seamlessly from the hub of the family home to a sophisticated entertaining space. Characterful touches, such as ribbed-glass lighting and open timber shelves for display, add warmth and personality without detracting from its serene, fuss-free aesthetic.
We’ve set up Haven alongside three other full-size kitchens and two full-size butler's pantries in our Spectra Showroom to make it easy to see exactly how your dream kitchen will look in your home. We’re open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm – no appointments necessary – so come and take a look!
In the meantime, here are the key ingredients you’ll need to create the Haven kitchen look.
Statement benchtops & splashback
Add wow factor to your kitchen by running a character-rich stone across your island, benchtops and splashback. In our Haven kitchen, we’ve used Caesarstone Arabetto, a stunning quartz with dynamic grey patterning against a crisp white background. It’s the perfect way to capture the beauty of natural stone, but in a luxurious finish that’s incredibly easy to look after.
Smooth timber cabinetry
Tap into the current kitchen trend for mixing different textures by choosing a timber-effect finish for upper and lower cabinetry. In Haven, we’ve chosen Laminex Seasoned Oak Chalk Finish, a warm, soft oak with a subtly textured grain, to contrast against the sleek Caesarstone island and benchtops. Handless, flat-face joinery emphasises the clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Ribbed (or fluted) glass is firmly in the spotlight right now, loved by designers and homeowners alike for the dash of texture and New York-style sophistication it brings to a space.
In our Haven kitchen, we’ve added a cluster of Beacon Mele pendants in different shapes and at different heights over the island to contrast against the clean lines of the cabinetry and benchtops, while bringing a warm, welcoming glow to the kitchen at night.
Keep the focus on your kitchen’s beautiful materiality by opting for minimalist appliances in stainless steel and black – matching, if you can.
Our Haven kitchen features sleek, harmonising appliances from Westinghouse, including an energy-efficient induction cooktop in black glass, stainless steel and black built-in ovens (because double the ovens means double the cooking possibilities!), a stainless steel and black dishwasher, and a concealed rangehood for a clean, fuss-free look.
A sleek sink & tap
Emphasise the contemporary feel of your cooking space with an angular chrome mixer tap and sink, like we’ve done in Haven. Here, we’ve paired a crisp, square-lined Oliveri Spectra 1½ Bowl Sink in Stainless Steel with a striking (and super-practical) chrome mixer tap with a pull-out hose (Phoenix Vezz Flexible Hose Square in Chrome).
Haven is one of four stunning full-size kitchens and two butler’s pantries currently on display in our Spectra Showroom at 631 Springvale Road, Mulgrave, Victoria 3170. The showroom is open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm – no appointments required – so come and take a look! No time to pop in? You can take a virtual showroom tour here.
