Building a new home can feel overwhelming – but it doesn’t have to be. With Carlisle Homes’ EasyLiving Series, the building journey is designed to be smooth, supportive and completely transparent from day one. Here’s exactly what to expect, and how we simplify the process at every stage.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer or just new to building, here’s your go-to guide for understanding how EasyLiving takes the stress out of building your new home.

What is the EasyLiving building process?

Carlisle’s EasyLiving Series is about more than great home designs at great prices – it’s about making the experience better, too.

We’ve mapped out six key stages to help guide you from initial enquiry through to handover. And with clear communication, industry-leading build times and expert support, you’ll enjoy peace of mind at every step.

How long does it take to build an EasyLiving home?

At Carlisle, we’re proud to say that our build time is among the fastest in the industry. Most EasyLiving homes are completed within 7–10 months, which includes:

  • Pre-site phase – plan finalisation, finance approvals and selections
  • Construction phase – on-site building, usually taking 16–24 weeks

Post settlement, your warranty phase will begin where we provide ongoing care and support.

Our streamlined construction schedule includes a 20-week build time guarantee for single-storey homes, so you can move in sooner and start enjoying your new space.

Our six-stage building process – step-by-step

Let’s take a closer look at how your new home comes to life – step-by-step. The EasyLiving process has been carefully developed to give you clarity, transparency and confidence from the very beginning.

Stage 1: Finance and planning

The journey starts with your initial consultation. You’ll meet with a Carlisle Sales Consultant to discuss your budget, ideal location, and what you’re looking for in a home. From there, we’ll guide you through suitable EasyLiving designs and home and land packages (if needed) and explain what’s included.

At this stage, Carlisle’s finance partners can help you get a no-obligation pre-approval so you know where you stand. Once you’re ready to proceed, a preliminary siting is completed to ensure your selected home design suits your block, and you’ll receive a fixed-price quote to lock everything in.

Stage 2: Selections

This is where you bring your home to life. With help of our experienced team, you’ll choose from a professionally curated selection of colour schemes, façades, internal upgrades, electrical options, and more.

The beauty of the EasyLiving Series is that it’s all been designed with simplicity in mind – so you’re not overwhelmed with thousands of options. Instead, you’ll have access to beautiful, well-resolved combinations that reflect current interior trends, available via our EasyLiving colour schemes.

Stage 3: Contract signing

Once your selections are finalised, your Client Liaison Executive will walk you through your Building Contract during a virtual appointment. You’ll review all details, ask any questions, and sign your contract and pay the balance of your 5% deposit once everything is confirmed.

Carlisle will then apply for developer approval and your building permit – managing this process on your behalf while keeping you informed.

You’ll also be supported with pre-site preparation advice, including what documentation is required (such as land title details, finance approvals, and third-party approvals if needed).

Stage 4: Site start and construction

Once permits are in place and your site is ready, construction begins – and the transformation really starts.

Here’s how it unfolds:

  • Base stage – The slab is poured, and the foundation is set. This is your first major build milestone, and it officially kicks off the construction phase.

Throughout your build, a qualified building surveyor will complete three inspections, and your Construction Supervisor will be in touch to answer questions and keep things moving.

You’ll also be able to track every milestone via Carlisle Connect – your personalised online portal that keeps everything in one place.

Stage 5: Handover

As your home nears completion, your Construction Supervisor will invite you to a PCI (Practical Completion Inspection) – your opportunity to walk through the finished product and raise any final questions.

Once your final payment is made, you’ll receive your settlement pack, handover documents, and most importantly – your keys. Appliances are installed shortly after settlement, and you can begin moving into your brand-new home.

Stage 6: Aftercare and warranty support

Carlisle’s commitment to quality doesn’t stop once the build is done. You’ll receive a 100-point warranty inspection three months after settlement to ensure everything’s performing as expected.

You’ll continue to have access to Carlisle Connect, where you can log warranty requests, track their progress, and upload photos to help get things resolved.
