How will I know if I’m eligible for the First Home Owners Grant?
The State Revenue Office of Victoria has certain criteria to ensure that you are eligible to receive the First Home Owners Grant. Please read about your Eligibility to Receive the Grant on the SRO website.
How much is the First Home Owners Grant?
For contracts entered into on or after 1 July 2017 to build or purchase a new home in regional Victoria up to the value of $750,000, a payment of up to $20,000 is available for eligible first home buyers, this figure has increased from $10,000.
First home buyers will also be exempt from paying stamp duty on property purchasers valued below $600,000, with a sliding scale for purchases above $600,000.
