Carlisle Homes Contributes over $500,000 to Local Community and Sporting Clubs

In 2014, Carlisle Homes launched the Community Grants program to support ‘grass roots’ initiatives and become active participants in the development of new community foundations. The program involves a contribution of up to $50,000 per quarter to groups within the Carlisle Homes building zone.

With Shane Crawford as our program ambassador, we have now helped over 60 community groups, sporting clubs and education providers to get their projects off the ground, with a huge $509,342 over the last 3 years.

The latest cycle for 2016, with applications closing on December 31, was celebrated recently at our Head Office, where 6 groups presented the details of their very inspiring projects, and received a giant novelty cheque from Shane Crawford.

‘It is always a difficult decision to choose the winners each quarter, we receive applications from so many very worthy causes. Hearing everyone’s project plans on presentation night reminds us all how important this grants program is to aid the growth of valuable social and infrastructure frameworks within the communities where we are building,’ Rob Tait, General Manager Procurement.

We are very excited to announce the 6 successful applicants for Cycle 4, 2016, we look forward to being involved in these very worthy projects.

We were quite inspired by the application from the Chadstone Football Club with their plans to upgrade their change room facilities to cater for the growing interest in Women’s Football, as well as the purchase of new playing uniforms. We look forward to seeing the photos of the new team on the ground!

The team from Mornington Peninsula Football Club are over the moon to be receiving $9,800 for the construction of a concrete hardstand to enable increased participation of disabled youth across the Dandenong to Dromana region.

The Western Eagles Soccer Club and their ‘benchwarmers’ project, will see two new benches for their main pitch, to provide shade and protection from the elements for interchange players and coaching staff with their $5,500 Community Grant.

Langwarrin Pre-school can’t wait to get started with the construction of their new storage shed with their $10,985 grant. This new shed will replace two 30 year old sheds that are in a very bad shape, and be a great new home for the outdoor play and garden equipment.

The newly revived Keysborough Junior Football Club, located in the melting pot of the thriving South East has plans to purchase a printed club marquee and two new BBQs to enable the separate preparation of halal meats and vegetarian items. They are busily working towards their first games for the year in April.

Fielding over 650 players through different age groups, the Forest Hill Football and Netball club will be using their $4,000 grant to purchase new coaching and training kits for their teams, which will kick their 2017 season off to a great start.

While Carlisle has a reputation for building homes of exceptional quality and delivering customer service excellence - recognised by the HIA as multiple winner of the Victorian HIA Customer Service Award - we also understand how important it is to develop strong links to engage people in the local communities within which we are building.

The current cycle for Community Grants is open for applications until March 31, read more.
