Hot Options - Heating your house

It is important to think of heating and cooling of your home as a long term investment. Consider options which give you cost savings, control over which rooms you heat or cool and address environmental concerns.

All Carlisle homes have a six star energy rating and come standard with a 3 star gas ducted heating to living areas and bedrooms.

Below are some of the great upgrades available to ensure maximum comfort in your new home.

There are a range of thermostats available from manual to programmable: Programable thermostats allow you to set what time your heating will turn on and off. You can program the heating to come on in the morning just before you get up, and when you arrive home at night your house is already warm!

This also allows for cost savings by not having the heating on when you are not around or don’t need it.

Upgrade to a 4 star mid efficiency or a 5 star high efficiency system that will reduce running costs and are quieter to run.

Particularly suitable for double storey homes, these systems allow you to upgrade to ‘zoned’ heating so you can heat the house in sections rather than the whole house at once.

Keep downstairs on when you are in the living areas and turn upstairs on before you go to bed to take the chill off. Multiple fan settings give you additional flexibility and when less zones are on, the the fan can slow down to save on running costs.

Both of these unit upgrade options allow you the additional benefit of adding on cooling systems. Instead of having to have two separate ducts on the ceiling, you simily have one one large duct that produces either hot or cold air.
